How to do female intimate hygiene in the right way
The female intimate area is a gateway for bacteria, fungi, and viruses that can cause itching, irritation, discharge, odor, and even illness. But a few simple feminine hygiene practices such as bathing, dressing, and using toilet paper can avoid these complications.
Starting in the bathroom. Flush the affected area with
plenty of water for about two minutes, always from the vaginal area to the
anus, to avoid infections that may be caused by microorganisms present in the
stool. Then blot the affected area with a cotton towel.
Before using an intimate hygiene product, check if it
matches the vaginal pH (which is acidic). Ideally, use a neutral soap. Avoid
those with aromatic formulas, this can cause allergies. The same goes for
intimate deodorants and scented pads.
Another tip for intimate hygiene while bathing is to gently
part the labia to cleanse the grooves between them. But the so-called intimate
souls are not suitable for this. When cleaning with toilet paper, always move
from the front to back (from the vulva to the anus).
When dressing, you should also be careful about your
intimate area. Lycra or lace panties impede ventilation and create an
environment more conducive to the growth of fungi and bacteria. Choose cotton
panties that should be washed with suitable soap and dried in the sun. Also,
don't spend too much time in a wet bikini.
Absorbents also make ventilation difficult in the region.
Therefore, use them only during your period. And change them often. Finally,
when waxing, instead of shaving everything, keep your hair trimmed, it works as
a natural barrier.
What can cause non-observance of intimate hygiene?
Lack of intimate hygiene can cause two types of vaginal
infections: candidiasis - very common in women, characterized by vaginal
irritation, severe itching, and white discharge, and bacterial vaginosis - has
grayish-white discharge as symptoms that may or may not have vaginal odor and
itching. Both complications can be treated with medication.
